JFK (May 29, 1917 – November 22, 1963)

I harbor no illusions that had JFK lived, everything would have been fine and wonderful. I know he was not a saint; he was a politician, an astute one. I was but a few weeks old when he was assassinated, so I have no memories of the president. However, I, like many Americans, have bought into the man, the myth, and the sense that he was robbed from us much too soon. This was a loss so great that these feelings still linger in the collective American psyche, 50 years later.  Requiescat in pace.
