I don’t ask for endorsements from people I don’t respect

I do not seek the endorsements of people I don’t respect, and I have received the endorsements and support of everyone I have asked.

The Sonoma County Alliance sent me an email asking if I wished to seek their endorsement. This was my response.

Dear Brian,

I will not be seeking the endorsement of the SCAPAC. I am not interested
in your endorsement because of the racist mailer your organization helped
produce two years ago in the 2nd district supervisorial race. Any group
that is willing to fan the flames of bigotry and intolerance, instead of
having a MEANINGFUL conversation about immigration, is not worthy of my
time. (The mailer was doubly hypocritical since many of your very own
members unapologetically use undocumented labor.)

I realize that this was before your tenure as Executive Director, and that
you may not even be aware of the mailer I’m talking about. However,
others on your board will know exactly to what I’m referring.
